AmmoSeek Listing Policies

By virtue of having your products listed in the AmmoSeek search engine,
the following policies and terms are agreed to and apply.

Data Feed
  1. The maintenance and upkeep of the data feed is solely the retailer's responsibility.
  2. If, at any time, the data feed no longer meets AmmoSeek's minimum requirements (see: https://ammoseek.com/xml) we reserve the right to disable the processing of the feed and delist the products.
Fees and Billing
  1. There is a minimum monthly fee (MMF) of $179 to be listed. This fee is usually a temporary initial fee to allow us time to gather clickthrough metrics (how much traffic we send to your site). This fee is not representative of a true market rate for our services. It should not be used as a baseline to compare with a future market rate if/when new rate discussions ensue.
  2. Some retailers may qualify for a lower minimum monthly fee of $99 if the retailer does not sell loaded ammunition, or sells a very limited number of [only] self-branded products. The determination of whether a retailer qualifies for this lower fee is solely at the discretion of AmmoSeek.
  3. We bill all fees on a monthly trailing basis.
  4. New invoice notifications are emailed at the start of each month for being listed in the previous month. For example, an invoice sent at the start of February is for being listed in January, and the February invoice is sent at the start of March, and so on.
  5. AmmoSeek does not offer refunds or credit for already issued or paid invoices regardless of context.
  6. AmmoSeek will bill a retailer for the entire month at the agreed upon rate should the retailer's data feed be processed for at least 7 days of the month. This is true regardless of the content of the feed. This means that even if the feed is empty, billing for the month will continue at the current agreed upon rate.
  7. Listing fees are determined by the number of monthly raw click-throughs as generated and tallied by AmmoSeek. See the section below for details regarding our "bot policy" as it pertains to counting these click-throughs.
  8. No outside analytics service (such as Google Analytics) will be used to determine rates.
  9. Recent click-through data is made available to the retailer from the retailer's information page for tracking/monitoring.
  10. These raw clicks will not match up with analytics services that also collect similar data. AmmoSeek counts every click (raw clicks). Analytics services will attempt to combine clicks into "sessions", "visits", or even "pageviews".
  11. AmmoSeek uses these raw clicks to determine rates for all (non-affiliate) retailers. This ensures that all retailers use the same metric thus making it as fair as possible between retailers.
  12. If a retailer was listed with AmmoSeek at some point in the past and returns to be listed again, the retailer will be listed at the same monthly rate as the previous time they were listed OR start with the pay-per-click (PPC) rate method, as determined by AmmoSeek.

Bot Policy
  1. AmmoSeek takes extensive measures to limit and block the number of bots/crawlers that are able to access our system.
  2. Some of this traffic is legitimate and will come through and AmmoSeek will count it among the raw clicks used to determine rates.
  3. AmmoSeek rates are already adjusted/normalized to take this into consideration.
  4. AmmoSeek's view is that this traffic is beneficial to retailers and will be factored into the monthly listing fee.
  5. Allowing such traffic means potential enhanced exposure through AI indexing. This positions a retailer's business to be discovered by potential customers in new ways. Products will be indexed as potential "answers" in AI-generated responses to actual human customers who query AI chatbots and agents for recommendations.
  6. This traffic also can boost SEO and improve organic traffic to the retailer's site, increasing brand exposure to new customers that otherwise would not have occurred if not for being listed on AmmoSeek.
Fee Adjustments
  1. For PPC (pay-per-click) payers, the monthly fee WILL automatically adjust based on recent traffic.
  2. For Flat Rate payers, the monthly fee WILL NOT automatically adjust based on recent traffic.
  3. For Affiliate program payers, the monthly fee WILL automatically adjust based on tracked and confirmed sales.
  4. It is the retailer's responsibility to reach out to AmmoSeek to request a fee adjustment if the fee being paid is no longer commensurate with the traffic being delivered.
  5. Any fee adjustment request received after the issuance of an invoice, if agreed upon, will take effect with the next invoice in the billing cycle.
  6. Once issued, invoices are immutable and non-refundable.
Service Pauses and Cancellations
  1. The retailer is fully responsible for notifying AmmoSeek via email or contact form of any pauses or cancellations of service.
  2. AmmoSeek will continue billing and charging the retailer's account until AmmoSeek receives notice of pause or cancellation.
  3. Since AmmoSeek does not offer refunds or credits it is extremely important for retailers to monitor any automatic recurring payments and/or incoming invoices on a monthly basis (at least).
  4. If your feed contains zero products (presumably because you're all out of stock) for 5-6 months or longer, we will stop processing your feed and wait to hear from you regarding when to resume.
  5. If we stop processing your feed for 6 months or longer, we'll archive your account from our system -- after which point a new application will be required in order to resume service.
Reviews / Ratings
  1. AmmoSeek users can rate and review retailers publicly.
  2. We offer you the opportunity to respond to reviews using a single designated registered AmmoSeek account.
  3. If you'd like to take advantage of this, please register for an AmmoSeek account (if you've not already done so). Then, once the account is activated and you're logged in, let us know the email address associated with it and we'll link it to your retailer profile. Once we do that, you'll be able to respond to reviews you receive.
  4. It is against our Terms of Service to submit fake reviews or self reviews, or to incentize users to submit reviews for your company.
  5. As a rule, AmmoSeek does not censor user-submitted reviews, other than for profanity. We will only remove reviews that violates our Terms of Service.
  6. AmmoSeek utilizes an artificial intelligence (AI) Large Language Model (LLM) to generate review summaries that are published on a retailer's review page when enough reviews have accumulated. We make no accuracy claims regarding the generated summary. If the current summary does not appear to be consistent with recent actual reviews please contact us so we may evaluate the claim and re-generate the summary, if necessary.
Shipping Ratings
  1. We regularly evaluate shipping and handling costs retailers charge and include this information to users in search results.
  2. Upon initial listing it may take up to a week or two for us to do the first evaluation.
  3. There are two components of the rating algorithm: (1) SHIPPING SCORE and (2) SHIPPING RATING.
  4. The SHIPPING SCORE is number between 1-100 (inclusive).
  5. The SHIPPING RATING is a number between 1 and 10 (inclusive). This number is the number displayed in search results.
  6. Whenever your shipping and handling charges change, please notify us immediately so we can update your score outside of our normal cycle. Not doing so runs the risk of irritating customers and having them submit the re-evaluation request.
  7. If you wish us to re-evaluate your shipping rating you may do so by request. However, such requests will only be performed once every 3 calendar days.
